Feeling Good

Around six months back, an 18-year old boy sent an friend request in Orkut after seeing my profile in Larry Ellison community. As we both like Larry, our friendship continued and we became good friends now..

I like the way he thinks and I strongly believe that he has the ability to achieve what he dreamt of.. He is now running three different businesses and now, close to cracking the deal with one of the fortune 500 client.

We chat frequently on Google chat and he calls me Anna and today, he pinged me and asked

"so, at any point if I need you to join along with me to my Company, will u?"

What I answered him was out of context here ,but I'm delighted ..

Exam prepration

Here is where I stand , with four days to go...

Able to answer all the time 65%
Unable to answer 5%
Able to eliminate two choices 30%

I'm able to hit 80% most of the time and it is all going to depend on how much I make it on that 30% of questions.. I'm practising as much questions I can and figuring out the topics ,which I need to re-study.

And the pass mark for this exam is 80% ...and 70% of time i'm able to get it .. remaining , it is variing from 70 - 90% and once I got 100% and other time 60%...

It is all going to depend on how much I concentrate for four straight hours and i'm confident enough of cracking it.

Let's wait and see..

(un)Luckily , I decided not to participate in AIDS day(Dec 1) volunteer activities becoz of this exam (atleast it saves me from the question like "Can you give an demo please?")

Needless to say, I'm excited and eagerly waiting for this stupid exam to get finished.

Auto biography: Thank you Adi

It's an honor and privilege to see my auto biography written by Adi. Thank you very much Adi.

All these incidents have huge impact on the way I think ,the way I approach my life and carrer, perhaps ,it is the same thinking that forced me to take up this exam .. Safe side Yaar.. If I get certified is SCM , I can try jobs in other ERP, even if Oracle crushes.

On a completely different note, my prepration is going on well ,and I'm going home to celebrate Dasara with my parents (Yep, I'm going to ride 120 KM on my Pulsar tommarow).

What next ???

Change is the only constant in life and my life is no exception.. Blogging has been my top priority for the last three months and now, I've something else to do in free time. I decided to prepare for an certification exam in Supply chain management and I've to prepare seriously to justify the amount I'm spending for the exam..

I loved blogging so much that I'm kind a addicted to it these days .I'm afraid that Introvert in me is taking over Extrovert .This is a forced break and If I continue blogging at the same pace, it means that my exam preparation is going for a toss. Please warn me, if you feel I'm crossing my limits. Here is the list of topics ,I thought of writing but I'm not sure how many of these I can finish.
  1. RBI moratorium on UWB :Why I'm bothered about it?
  2. Oracle is paying 8 LPA for freshers, more than people working there for last 5 years
  3. Onsite - Offshore metholody : How offshore employees get screwed by onsite counterparts
  4. Mergers and acquisitions: Is it the only way to grow faster ?
  5. Real estate in Hyderabad : Do you want to buy house in Hyderabad or Cincinatti?
  6. Federer Vs Sampras : What if both of them played in same era?
  7. Lance Armstrong AutoBiography review : How he beat cancer and won seven tour de france champions
  8. Oracle Vs SAP : Is Oracle going on right direction to capture SAP European market
  9. Technical Vs Functional : Pros and cons of both.
  10. How to approach your prospective life partner: My friend's (Raghu, YK and Kishore) views.
  11. Ten people, who changed the way I think...

Following is the Picture, which shows number of hits on my blog, in the last one and half month.. Entire U.S. is covered ,which means that most of my friends are reading this page . If you observe it closely, you will see three big red circles(more than 100 hits ) in Hyderabad, Texas (my client place) and Delhi. Just wondering ,who is this Delhi wala? If you are reading this regularly and not dropping a comment, please sign my guest book...

My Day Today

Me: Life sucks.. My day was so bad.

Friend: Ya.. What Happened? Tendulkar hit Century no??

Not that re, something else.

Did you loose your mobile or met with accident something?

Grrrr...

ok,ok.. Sorry.. Tell me what was that ?

It is raining heavily here and completely got drenched..

But , you like riding in rain ,Aren't you?

Yes ,but traffic was jam and all the roads were blocked, horrible ride.. completely got wet by the time I reached home.

Anything important got wet?

Nothing.. only clothes.. oh!ya, The tickets I booked for Chennai got wet.

Are you going to Chennai? you haven't told me? Kuch kuch .. aa?

No yaar, you know the reason why I go Chennai frequently

The same old reason again?

Ya,My cousin is attending Visa Interview at Chennai Consulate

But ,You said ,you mayn't go to Chennai again after your last Visit?

Yes, I felt that that way. All F1 and H1 are over. I'm going to accompany for H4 visa...

What else? what was that made you sad?

Actually ,at work, I was asked to design solution for problem ,which doesn't exist at all .. The process here really sucks..

You first come out of Oracle Mindset, things won't be as streamlined and as process-oriented as Oracle are..

ok,ok.. Today I was badly missing Oracle Cafetira..I could have watched complete Tendulkar's Innings in the Cafeteria..

Back to Cricket.. Good.. I watched complete match today.. Sachin's Innings was so great on that pitch with uneven bounce

You watched all the sixers??

Yes.. The stright drive, lofted sixers, hook shots were great.. Leave that.. I'm sad that India lost.. Tell me something else?

Actually .. I was thinking that Darrel Hair was not bad..

Why? You said he was racist and all that stuff..

I did, but Have you ever bothered to understand his mental condition on that day.

What do you mean?

I seriously think he might have read Duckworth-Lewis Rule the day before and decided to do something more stupid than that and ended up in that controversy.

Ok,Ok.. Got to go.. There is a special program coming on Sachin on NDTV.. I have to watch.. Good night.

Four years

I never realized that I'm the only one among my classmates and hostelmates , who is in Hyderabad for four years straight after completion of Engineering ,until Shashi reminded me about that, when I congratulated him for his new job in Bajaj-Allianz. Going deeper, I realized that Vijendar is the only guy in India (Bangalore ) among my Best friends..

It makes me sick ,that I'm alone.. the fact that couple of my cousin - roomates ,who stayed in my room , left India makes me even more sick.. Am I really alone? I don't know ,but it is not the same kind of fun I'm having these days as it was, when they are around and it became more evident when last of my best buddy (YK) left India.. YK's effect was clear on the very next day ,when I went for morning walk alone..

I don't know whether it's accidental or something else ,but almost all my decisions ended up staying in Hyderabad.. Four years back, I decided to join CMC over pursuing Masters at Arizona state University. A year later, I chose Oracle Over Infosys and now I left this company, when I almost got the chance to go to U.S. I absolutely have no regrets for all these decisions ,but It would have been even more happier ,if some of my best pals around.

I'm sick of answering the question "Why are you not going to U.S." . Why Should I?? Seriously ,I didn't find any proper reason to go to U.S. I always wonder ,what makes people stay in U.S. Is it Money ?, Friends?? Or Quality of Life ??? Even after going there , there is no gurantee that I'll be staying with my friends.. I'm earning quite decently here and my new consulting job gives good chance to roam around the world and more importantly I'm staying closer to family. I'm Sure most of my classmates consider coming back to India, If Kishore comes back, but this stupid guy became so americanized that he is not even thinking of coming back..

I too sick of answering "When are you getting married" stuff. Till three months back ,that question was only from my relatives and now even my friends started asking the same question after two of my best friends (Ravi and Vijendar) got married last month. Ok, Ok, no complaints about staying alone.. This is much better than getting married (at least now).

Here is my plan, wait for a year (I turn 26 by that time) , Go on-site for some time , get feedback from Ravi and Vijendar about their married life and then decide. Did I tell you that my plan of having lunch( around 1 PM) with Ravi and Vijendar families ended up in we three (Ravi, Vijendar and me) meeting at 11:30 PM in the night ?

Change

I decided to quit AXX . Everyone shocked at my decision and asked what made me to take this decision in the very short time.. What made me to leave AXX? Is it that I'm not learning much.. Or Bored of doing technical stuff or travel opportunities are bleak, or not surrounded by talented people or tired of traveling 40 km per day..... Not sure, but mainly I'm leaving because I got the offer as functional consultant with good travel opportunities...

I remember AXX as a cool place ,where you don't have much to do and can earn decently.. I'm sure ,most of my colleagues agree with me.. I enjoyed Playing T.T. in AXX, I played for around 1.5 hours per day... My backhand shot really improved a lot and got good complements from my fellow players.. Every T.T.Player recognizes me as a person who plays T.T. with stylish backhand .. I liked it.. I liked the very feeling that people rememering for uniqueness in style.. I can't forget the game I played with Jitu(AXX T.T. Champion) where I smashed all five serves straight...

About team? Enjoyed working here.. Vizag trip is the best of my 3.5 months at AXX.. Be it teasing Saroja or Srinivas's Lunch box or Shiva's Rayalaseema slang.... or boozing with Sachin or Andhra mess lunch with Sushant or Evening Mango Juice with Saroja.. Or Syed's communication skills or Curie's beauty or Tanuja's Smile or Rajeev's managerial skills or Vallabha's innocence or Vivek's technical skills in Oracle Apps Or Subbu's Bluff game or my dear BPO Associate for whom my eyes used to search in seventh floor ..I enjoyed it thoroughly ..

I'm sure that my decision is right ,but I'm not sure whether i'm leaving at right time.. I decided to leave when P.P. started recognizing my work.. I'm leaving when Rollcall Engine coding is about to start and P.P. chose me to do that.. It's a honour for sure.. I might be missing Jim's MD070 docs....

Time will answer those questions...
